Okay, sorry for the bad pun in the headline. But the fact is, a noose figures prominently in the new poster (courtesy of the film’s Facebook page) for James Wan’s THE CONJURING. Notice the eerie shadow on the ground near the tree. You’ve got to like the atmospheric simplicity in this one-sheet (even if it does elicit thoughts of SINISTER‘s effective tree-hanging visual); I’m guessing the next piece of art we see from the movie won’t be as subtle.
Before there was Amityville, there was Harrisville. Based on a true story, “The Conjuring” tells the horrifying tale of how world-renowned paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren were called upon to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in a secluded farmhouse. Forced to confront a powerful demonic entity, the Warrens find themselves caught in the most terrifying case of their lives.
THE CONJURING stars Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Ron Livingston and Lili Taylor; it opens on JULY 19th in the US and UK.
Slender Man has been making a lot of rounds here lately and has become very popular. Not bad for a internet created entity. Anyway a group of film makers from New York has given Slender Man a go with a short film they have made.
It runs just short of 25 minutes and is a interesting film. So if you have some time to kill give it a shot and have some Slender fun.

I’m not quite sure how genuine a “camping” horror movie scenario will play out in downtown L.A., but regardless, this still sounds like a hell of a good time. Continue reading Who wants to go to a Horror Slumber Camp!!!! Click here!
Movie Review: The Possession
By: TJ Fowler
Movies based off “real events” or actual things sometimes can be sketchy in terms of how truthful the story you see on screen is, i.e. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The Possession is a movie which is not based on an actual story as it’s more based on the legend of a dybbuk box, an old Jewish Wine box which has a demon imprisoned within. I’m a paranormal buff so I am familiar with the item the movie is based off of and there is such an item that is floating around out there with stories attached to really make you wonder about such an item. So how does The Possession translate this urban legend to the big screen? Do we get some Old Testament vengeance delivered or do we get a big empty wooden box with the Yiddish word, “Schmendrick” engraved on it? Read on! Continue reading Movie Review: The Possession
