Heavy Metal And Popular Culture International Conference To Take Place In Ohio Next Month

The inaugural Heavy Metal And Popular Culture international conference will take place at Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio April 4-7,. It will be the first scholarly conference on heavy metal in the U.S. Registration is free and members of the public are encouraged to attend.

Metal music and culture scholars from Norway, Germany, Switzerland, the UK, France, Canada, New Zealand, Finland, Brazil and all over the U.S., including Puerto Rico, will gather to share theories, network, and discuss the forthcoming peer-reviewed journal that will be published by The International Society for Metal Music Studies. LORDI – To Beast Or Not To Beast Enters European Charts

Finland’s LORDI have entered the European charts with their latest album, To Beast Or Not To Beast. Countries include:

To Beast Or Not To Beast was recorded last fall at WireWorld Studio in Nashville, TN with renowned producer Michael Wagener (METALLICA, OZZY OSBOURNE, SKID ROW, DOKKEN, RAVEN, MEGADETH). The CD marks the recording debut of Lordi’s new members, keyboardist Hella (replacing Awa) and drummer Mana (replacing Otus).

“The road to this album has truly been paved by hardships,” Mr. Lordi says. “However, the new line-up of the band has given us new and fresh touch and an energetic edge to the recording process, and to the album itself.”
