There seems to be a lot of stoner/doom rock going around right now.  Which I think is generally a good thing.  I can’t say I’m expert of the genre but I know good songs when I hear them and can enjoy a good Doom album when I have to.  I was recently contacted by a band based in Minneapolis, Minnesota called Red Desert that politely asked me to help them out and give them a review of their new album ‘Damned by Fate’.  I’m always up to try and help up and coming bands get some press because the music world is tough out there, hell making a living at anything these days is tough.  So let’s dive in and trek across the Red Desert and see if we really have been ‘Damned by Fate’. GHOST B.C. Stream ‘Monstrance Clocks’ Track Online

Swedish metallers GHOST B.C. are streaming the new single, ‘Monstrance Clock’, online at this location.Last month the band released their new music video for ‘Year Zero’ – the second visual offering from their forthcoming sophomore psalm Infestissumam, due out on April 16th via Loma Vista Recordings. The NSFW video for ‘Year Zero’ was directed by Amir Chamdin and can be seen below:

It’s a bit hard for me to classify Thinning the Herd.  They have a Black Sabbath old school fuzzy sound while the vocals sound a bit on the punk side but also of something else I can put my finger on.  As a result I find we have an interesting and nice mix of different musical elements that result in an enjoyable listening experience.
