I have to admit, I have a soft spot for bands that embrace the Satanic imagery and lyrical themes.  Yeah, a lot of them can be bad and a lot of them are not good.  Then again there are a lot of metal bands in general that are not good.  The thing about the metal bands that latch onto the occult themes and add in some traditional style metal playing, if they get that right they can come out with some pretty interesting stuff.  This is the case with Baphomet’s Blood and their new album ‘In Satan We Trust’.  Good old fashioned in your face speed/thrash metal with all kinds of with some retro occultism thrown in makes for a rough and tumble metal assault! SATAN: Another New Song Available For Streaming

“Testimony”, a brand new song from the legendary NWOBHM (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal) band SATAN, can be streamed below. The track comes off the group’s new album, “Life Sentence”, which will be released on April 29 in Europe and May 21 in the U.S. via Listenable Records. The cover artwork for the CD was drawn by Eliran Kantor (TESTAMENT, HATEBREED, SODOM) and depicts a similar graphic concept as that of the band’s debut album, “Court In The Act”, originally issued 30 years ago. Music Review: NightBitch EP: Chainmaker

Occult rituals, sleazy lyrics and dirty rock and roll.  That’s what you get with NightBitch’s 3 song EP ‘Chainmaker’.  Again, I have fallen into a band that seems to be channeling the sounds from the 70’s and the occult mysticism from the 60’s and the 70’s.

‘Chainmaker’ contains two original songs, ‘Chainmaker’ and ‘Disrober’ and one cover song ‘Into the Fire’ by Deep Purple.   The two original songs are very classic rock and doom  sounding, with lyrics talking about obeying your ‘Master’ or being enslaved by your ‘Master’.  Take your pick.  They are also very well done and catchy songs, if you don’t mind the occult theme which some people might.

Vocal wise, if you are a Glenn Danzig fan then you will love the singing you will find here.  Singer Chris Taylor does a excellent job here really helping to drive the songs home and make you feel you are listening to some evil priest.

The band is currently looking for a label to release a full length album which I hope they can find.  The ‘Chainmaker’ EP is an excellent little taste of the evil beast I hope will be released in full force in the near future.
