When the old meets new and ushers in a new era. This is what the Sabaton/ACCEPT show at its core is. ACCEPT is a well-established band in the metal genre with a dedicated fan base that are always eager to see them and Sabaton is a band on the rise, looking to make the next big step in their career. In this case, that step is becoming a headliner in European arenas. That is right, not headliners for a day of a festival but arenas, for their own tours. With ACCEPT coming along as Special Guests was a genius move for both bands. For ACCEPT, it opens them up to younger fans who came for Sabaton and for Sabaton it brings in an established fan base from ACCEPT to add to their already large and growing fan base as well and help fill the arena.
The question is…did it pay off for both bands. Hell yes it did. Continue Reading
Sonata Arctica on kuin Suomen vastine In Flamesille; ei suinkaan musikaalisesti vaan sen suhteen, että teki bändi mitä tahansa studiossa tai lavalla, tuntuu rapaa tulevan niskaan. ”Sontiaisten” tuoreimman levyn tiimoilta viime keskiviikkona Jyväskylästä alkanut The Ninth Hour -kiertue on saanut sosiaalisessa mediassa osakseen rapaa niskaansa 13 biisin muodostavasta settilistasta. Taannoiset lehtijutut antoivat osviittaa bändin treenanneen ison määrän vaihtoehtoisia kappaleita tulevalle kiertueelle. No, mielipiteitähän mahtuu maailmaan yhtä monta kuin on ihmistäkin. Itse olen sitä osastoa, joka kehrää tyytyväisyydestä, kun bändit osoittavat seisovansa uusien tuotoksiensa takana ja soittavat uutta materiaalia kunnolla sisään. Juuri tällaista tapausta sain todistaa perjantaina Oulun Areenalla.

Not since Doctor Frankenstein robbed some graveyards, stitched together some body parts and harnessed the power of lightning and raised a dead corpse back to life has a band had such an equivalence of revival in popularity and creative resurgence as ACCEPT. Not Iron Maiden, not Judas Priest but the German Teutonic power house known as ACCEPT. They performed this miracle by going against the advice many labels and critics wanted them to do and bring back in Udo Dirkschneider, and got a completely new singer in Mark Tornillo. Virgin Steele Official Facebook:
Skullbanger Media: First I want to say thank you David for the opportunity to allow me to ask some questions about Virgin Steele and yourself for my site Skullbanger Media. I want to first say I am a newcomer as a fan. Years ago I heard your song Wings of Vengeance but never looked deeper until just recently. After doing so I was really impressed with not only your songwriting and vocal range but the sincerity you put forth in your songs and performances. It was really refreshing to see someone be as passionate as you are in doing something that I can tell you truly love. Could you maybe go into a bit of your history with music, what inspires you and when you realized this was your passion? Continue Reading
