“Due to (vocalist) Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth’s ongoing bout with pneumonia, we have regretfully decided to cancel the remainder of our shows on The Dark Roots Of Thrash tour,” commented OVERKILL in an official statement.

“Blitz’s condition has gotten slightly worse [after Saturday’s show in Worcester, Massachusetts] and he needs some time to get back to 100%. We would like to thank TESTAMENT for a great tour and look forward to everyone back on the road soon. After some time for recovery, we’ll be back out in the spring for our Scandinavian tour. See you then!”

Overkill will not be performing at the following shows:

20 – Cincinnati, OH – Bogart’s
21 – Grand Rapids, MI – The Intersection
22 – Milwaukee, WI – The Rave
23 – Minneapolis, MN – First Avenue
25 – Denver, CO – The Summit Music Hall
26 – Salt Lake City, UT – In The Venue
27 – Reno, NV – Knitting Factory
28 – Sacramento, CA – Ace Of Spades

Overkill are gearing up for their first Scandinavian run in a long time, also including several dates in Finland where the band hasn’t really toured in almost 30 years.

Commented the band: “Well the wait is over….we are finally coming to Finland to do our first tour in almost 30 years of touring thru Europe and we could not be more psyched! We have done the Tuska Festival twice before and the crowds there were always tremendous. We are really looking forward to the entire Scandinavian tour and will be pulling out a bunch of old tunes as well as the new! See ya on tour!”
