Eric Blair of “The Blairing Out With Eric Blair Show” conducted an interview with Zakk Wylde (BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, OZZY OSBOURNE) at the Bass Player LIVE! Concert & Awards Show, which was held this past Saturday night (November 9) at the historic Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, California. The concert honored heavy metal legend, BLACK SABBATH‘s Geezer Butler, and featured an all-star band of rock luminaries performing BLACK SABBATH songs as a tribute to Butler. “13”, the first BLACK SABBATH record in 35 years to feature singer Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi and bassist Geezer Butler all playing together, can be streamed in its entirety on the band’s iTunes page. (Note: If the link leads you to another webpage, make sure to click “Open in iTunes” to hear the stream.) The CD is due out June 11 on Vertigo/Republic. Today (May 29th) is the 30th anniversary of the famous US Festival at Glen Helen Regional Park near Devore, San Bernardino, California. Spearheaded by Apple Computer co-founder Steve Wozniak, the US Festival intended to be a celebration of technology and culture, with a temporary stage and open-air venue paid for by Wozniak himself just for the purposes of the festival. The event featured Heavy Metal Day on on May 29, 1983 with the following stellar line-up: MÖTLEY CRÜE, QUIET RIOT, OZZY OSBOURNE, JUDAS PRIEST, TRIUMPH, SCORPIONS and VAN HALEN.
