You have released a 2nd album under the name of  ”Aum Corrupted”. What is the story behind this album and the lyrical themes?
This album is all about the interpersonal conflicts, never knowing peace, trying to fill the fresh wound gaps with things that absolutely don’t matter, striving for perfecting without leaving the abyss, etc.

To release this album, you have signed with the Italian label, WormHoleDeath…
Yes…

You have two previous releases, an EP (2012) and a full-lenght (2014). Comparing with these two, is the sound of ”Aum Corrupted” different?
We can say a lot of things about our work, good or bad, but in all these cases it won’t be objective. So it would be much better if the listener would decide by himself/herself how it sounds for him or her.

Aswell you have a video for the song ”Unknown Summons”, what is the video about?
It shows the various problems of the modern world. Of course not all of them, to show all of them wouldn’t be enough just one song.

Interview Nihil

Interview with Enea (drums) of the Albanian Black metal band Nihil.

By Carla Morton

Hi Enea, how have you been?
Hi Carla! I’m just fine. Thank you for this interview and giving us a chance to reach out to wider audiences.

nihil

Tell me when Nihil was founded?
Nihil was founded in 2009 by Saimir (bass guitar, vocals) and two other musicians. A year later I joined the band as a drummer and co-composer. Since then the band has played in different line-ups until Atris (guitar) and Baltion (guitar) joined in 2012 stabilizing in our current line-up.

In 2010 there is a two songs demo, right?
Yeah, the “Unierr” demo. We had far more material at the time, but decided to use the two most attractive songs for a landmark demo. But as I was the new guy at the band we hadn’t started playing my compositions yet.

Did you start to record your first album?
We started recording for a new album in better quality in 2011, and produced 7 songs which we later released digitally through Youtube and later on as a demo titled “Willingness of strength” in 2012. We are currently working on our next release which I hope will be a full length album.

What are the lyrical themes?
Our main themes are nihilism and antireligion. In our view nihilism stands for ignoring and rejecting all imposed values in order to deflect a society living in denial and revaluate reality on our own terms. There’s no meaning to reality other than what we choose to give it to.

Did you have shows along?
We have played in 5 local gigs in Tirana and are planning on a couple of shows for the summer. We are not planning any tours or shows abroad before finishing our first full-length album.

A message for Nihil fans?
Thank you for all the support and trust, and stay tuned for our next release of Black Metal pandemonium…

Thank you Enea, cheers!
Thanks again for the interview Carla, and for supporting the underground metal bands. Ave!

Interview Life’s Illusion

By: Carla Morton

Life’s Illusion is a Depressive Black/Dark Ambient Metal from Ukraine with an EP released last year. Here is an interview I made with the band’s vocalist Xasthuriath, who she told about the band and also about starting the recordings for a new album.

Hello Xasthuriath, how are things going?
Hails! Doing fine, in spite of the entire enemies coalition against me I’m still alive and kicking.

About Life’s Illusion, tell me when the band was formed.
The band was formed circa 2011 by me and a broken acoustic guitar. I just tried to express my emotions and transform my sadness and pain into something, and gradually it became something bigger.

2 demos are out, one in 2011 and one out in 2013. Tell me a few words about them.
Honestly, I’m not really happy with them, especially 2011 one – primitive, extremely raw and kind of embarrassing. “Memoires” is slightly better – it means a lot for me because it was composed during my stay in psychiatric ward.

Last year you released the first EP ”Art Of Despair”. How were those recordings done?
I didn’t have a stable lineup at that time so I recorded everything internationally – with members of Worthless Life (USA) and Suicide Emotions (Italy). Quality is a bit more improved on this record yet I’m still not really happy with it.

 Who mainly write the lyrics?
The lyrics were, are, and will be written by me only.

Any lyrical themes for Life’s Illusion?
Started off with my depression and pain. Later it developed into the world of a dark Psychotic mind: desolate landscapes, nightmares, obscure emotions and visions.

Are there some shows coming up this year?
We are playing two shows in Kiev, with Forgotten Tomb and Psychonaut 4.

Are you preparing for a new album?
We are currently in progress of recording of our debut full length “From Pain I Rise ” , coming out this spring on Talheim Records.

 A message for the fans?
Believe in yourself and stay negative…

Thank you for your answers, cheers!
Cheers!

Wormwood is a five members Swedish Black ‘N’ Roll band who this year in March they released their first debut album which mainly focuses on themes about dark, cold waters and creatures from long tales. Here is an interview I did with Tobias Rydsheim, the main guitarist of the band which answered some questions about the band.

Heya, how are things going?
Tobias: Hey! It´s all good. Enjoying to spend a few days off, since it´s easter holiday right now.

Tell me a few words about how Wormwood formed?
Tobias: Me (guitar), Johtun (drums), Borka (bass) and a guy named Gustav (guitar) starded to jam together, we made a few songs and had a good time. But when we found our singer Nine we could become a full band, and could finally pick an official band name and stuff. Gustav left the band after the first gig, so we had a replacement guitarist for two gigs. Short after that, Nox (ex -Pray for Locust,Withershin) joined and we felt complete as a team.

The first debut EP was out this year, how were the recordings done and did it have a theme?
Tobias: The EP was a zero budget production that I put together from the resources I had at that time.

Was there something that influenced you guys on this album or is it all original material by you?
Tobias: Yes, there is a strong theme through the six songs, they all have something in common. It is old forgotten stories from the northen parts of Scandinavia that we translated it into music and lyrics. Or as we use to say it – “Six immersive songs about the dark, cold waters of the arctic, splendid northern woodlands and creatures from long lost tales.”

How were the first shows? Are you planning more shows?
Tobias: The first shows was good, and it´s getting even better. Of course we´re planning a lot of new shows, more info will come soon!

Do people like it all?
Tobias: I hope so.

Talking about you now, is it safe to say you are the ”leader” of the band.
Tobias: I would not say me or anyone else is the leader of the band. We´re all into this together as one. But we have different skills that we take advantage of.

Can you tell me some of your influences?
Tobias: Oh, my personal influences? That´s a tough question. I enjoy listening to everything from oldschool rock music to obscure extreme metal sub genres. Swedish/Scandinavian Folk Music is also something that i enjoy very much. Influences is not just about music and other bands. It´s about life in general, atmospheres, feelings, nature. Yeah, like everything that comes across your path.

Are you guys planning a new album soon?
Tobias: Yes, we are! We have already a done a few songs, they are fucking great! So I really hope that the next album will get alot of attention when it´s finnished.

Do you have a message for the fans?
Tobias: Spread the word, stay metal and visit our website to read more about The Void and the stories from the whispering well!

Thank you for this interview Tobias. Rock on!
 Thank you too!
