CALL OF THE VOID: Full Album Streaming At Lambgoat

Roadside Takeover Continues

In honor of its release today, Lambgoat is currently streaming CALL OF THE VOID’s sadistic Dragged Down A Dead End Path full-length in its entirety at THIS LOCATION.

Fittingly dubbed “powerful, harsh crust grind at its fucking finest,” by American Aftermath, and “an intense and hard hitting CD, with some of the sickest guitar playing heard since Death’s Spiritual Healing,” by Wicked Channel, CALL OF THE VOID churn a bastardized mesh of filth-ridden, powerviolence-tinged hardcore with reckless abandon. With more than 25 minutes of confrontational audio hate, the ten-track Dragged Down A Dead End Path was recorded at the Boar’s Nest in Salt Lake City, Utah by Andy Patterson and mastered by Chris Mcnaughton. Notes Outburn in an 8/10 review of the record, “With a raw, messy sound drenched in over-amped guitars and driven by pure bile, they channel grindcore and Iron Monkey-esque sludgy unpleasantness and with each track – the longest topping out at 3:44 – they go off in a half dozen directions without ever losing their focus on destroying everything close by.”

CALL OF THE VOID are currently pillaging their way through the US on a three-week tour that included four scathing appearances at SXSW. Remaining dates are included below.

Order a physical copy of Dragged Down A Dead End Path HERE or a digital version via iTunes HERE. Additionally, you can watch the band’s lyric video for “Endless Ritual Abuse” courtesy of Blow The Scene at THIS LOCATION.

“From start to finish, Dragged Down A Dead End Path is a blast of hardcore mixed with metal. Not ‘metalcore’… what people think of when those genres are mentioned in the same sentence. Bottom line: CALL OF THE VOID brings ten dirty, heavy as hell, tracks of in-your-face urgency.” — Echoes And Dust

“…vocalist Steve Vanica is truly vicious. Obvious points of reference would be other crusty-core bands such as GazaEarly Graves and to a certain extent Nails, but at the same time the band manage to invoke some of the dark punk-y groove of Trap Them, that’s too often overlooked by bands of their ilk.” — HeavyBlogIs Heavy

“A violent debut from this young band. One that will curb-stomp your ears and then ask you to say ‘thank you’ afterwards. Better wear a crash helmet, and learn to be appreciative. I, for one, am indeed.” — Sludgelord

“Having a bad day at work? Did some cellphone addicted moron cut you off? I suggest blasting CALL OF THE VOID from your speakers, as this is anger therapy in 30 minutes and it’ll make you feel a whole lot better. A damn fine album and a band you will no doubt hear plenty more from in 2013.” – The Lair Of Filth

LAMB OF GOD Singer Not Guilty In Prague Case

According to ITV News, a Czech court has acquitted the frontman of US heavy metal band LAMB OF GOD, Randy Blythe, of charges he caused the death of a fan at a concert in Prague three years ago.

The prosecution had accused Blythe, 42, of causing the death of the 19-year old fan by pushing him off the stage at a 2010 concert.

If found guilty of manslaughter, Blythe faced up to ten years in prison. Daniel Nosek’s family was also demanding the equivalent of over $500,000 in damages.

The State Attorney immediately announced his intention to appeal the verdict; he has eight days to put this in writing.

Lamb Of God tweeted the following this morning:

CANNIBAL CORPSE Frontman Interviewed In Finland (Video)

Kaaos TV conducted an interview with vocalist George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher of Florida-based death metal veterans CANNIBAL CORPSE when the band played at Pakkahuone in Tampere, Finland on February 11. You can now watch the chat below.

CANNIBAL CORPSE will release a box set to commemorate their 25th anniversary: “Dead Human Collection: 25 Years Of Death Metal”. The box contains: all 12 full-length studio albums in a 12-CD foldout case with new artwork, “Torturing And Eviscerating Live” on CD and LP picture disc recorded in Tampa, Florida in 2010 and Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 2012, plus new exclusive images by Vince Locke, 12″ x 12″ graphic prints of all 13 original album covers, and a 2013 CANNIBAL CORPSE calendar. The box will be in stores on March 16 and will be available for pre-order soon, along with the previously announced series of CANNIBAL CORPSE picture discs, at metalblade.com/cannibalcorpse.

After a bloody successful maiden voyage in 2012, Decibel magazine is doubling down on veteran star power for their second annual national tour. This spring, the plague spreads as Decibel brings you three living legends of death metal and grindcore: the preeminent gore institution CANNIBAL CORPSE; rabble-rousing U.K. grind icons NAPALM DEATH, and NYDM stalwarts IMMOLATION.

While occultism permeated last spring’s inaugural Decibel tour — featuring exclusively European headliners in BEHEMOTH, WATAIN, THE DEVIL’S BLOOD and IN SOLITUDE — they looked (mostly) to North America for this year’s unholy assemblage. Three of Decibel‘s favorite underground powerhouses will take on this year’s rotating opening slot: demented Bay Area death-grinders CRETIN, Canadian tech-prog upstarts BEYOND CREATION and Beltway grind/powerviolence crushers MAGRUDERGRIND. And the time is ripe to see the new bleed into the old: three of the six artists performing are expected to have new records detonating during the tour.

Kicking off in May, this year’s Decibel Magazine Tour gauntlet will last a full week longer than its 2012 counterpart, spanning over 30 North American dates. Presented by Metal Blade, IndiemerchStore.com, Nuclear Blast, Lace Pickups, Century Media and Season Of Mist, the 2013 Decibel Magazine Tour will bring together the kind of globally-renowned, boundary-pushing innovators that have made it possible for the magazine to continue thriving for over 100 issues. Coming off a tour noted for BEHEMOTH frontman Nergal‘s triumphant return to the States following his battle with leukemia — which culiminated in an explosive sold-out closing gig in New York City — Decibel had no choice but to go bigger and even more badass.
