When I heard that Herman Frank and Stephan Schwarzmann of Accept were teaming up with Destruction frontman Schmier to form a heavy metal outfit called Panzer I was very interested to say the least.
After hearing a few of the tracks that were released online to promote the band I was left with some mixed feelings. The music was ok but the vocals seemed like they didn’t fit with the songs very well so at that point I was a little worried about what was going to be offered by our Teutonic friends. Well, luckily ‘Send Them All to Hell’ is an album whose strength, and a few weaknesses, comes from the sum of all its parts and not just those few tracks we got to listen to on Youtube. Warner Brothers have released a new trailer for their upcoming horror flick, ‘The Conjuring’. Based on the paranormal investigation of Ed and Lorraine Warren, most well known for their Amityville Horror investigation and the fame from that. James Wan director of ‘Insidious’ and ‘Sinister’ helms ‘The Conjuring’ and it looks to be a genuine creepy tale. Also, the fact the movie got rated an R for just being too scary and not blood and guts could say a lot about the horror of the film.

With all the talk going on about a remake of John Carpenter’s ‘Escape From New York’ in the works I thought I would go back an rewatch the 1981 original and see how it holds up, since I know most people have a disdain for remakes of movies they have a fondness for. Regardless if the movie may not be that great to begin with. So what are my thought of the old version and is a remake warranted or even needed? Slender Man has been making a lot of rounds here lately and has become very popular. Not bad for a internet created entity. Anyway a group of film makers from New York has given Slender Man a go with a short film they have made.
It runs just short of 25 minutes and is a interesting film. So if you have some time to kill give it a shot and have some Slender fun.
Brief Plot Synopsis: What happens when you get a giant, fire breathing lizard that ransacks some dwarf’s homeland, a grey robed hippie wizard who likes to ‘Volunteer’ people for jobs, a brown robed hippie wizard that likes hedgehogs, and a clueless midget?
