Time to feel the DOOM boys and girls!  I had the great pleasure to listen to Texas based Venomous Maximus today and I don’t know what’s in the water out in Texas but these guys drank a big dose of it because they have put together quite the doom metal album with ‘Beg Upon The Light’.  It’s Doom, it’s catchy, it’s occult and it’s good.  Also you have some pretty epic beards going on here, I guess that’s a doom metal thing Rasputin-esque beards or something.  Anyway read on for my review! ROB ZOMBIE’s ‘The Lords Of Salem’ Film: New Clip Posted Online

An exclusive clip from Rob Zombie‘s upcoming film, “The Lords Of Salem”, can be seen at USAToday.com.

Zombie recently revealed the track list for the soundtrack of “The Lords Of Salem” and it contains classic songs from THE VELVET UNDERGROUND, MANFRED MANN, Rick James and RUSH in addition to an original score by Zombie‘s guitarist John 5. Zombie told The Pulse Of Radio how he approached compiling the soundtrack. “I mean, I always like to find songs that can represent the film, so there’s at least one song in every movie that when you hear it, it brings back the imagery of the film,” he said. “In this movie, it was a VELVET UNDERGROUND song. I always want to try to find that piece of music early on, even in the writing process. For ‘Devil’s Rejects’, it was ‘Freebird’, strangely enough, and for the last movie it was ‘Nights In White Satin’. Sometimes you just hear a song and you go, ‘This song sounds like how I want the movie to feel.'”

The soundtrack includes MANFRED MANN‘s version of “Blinded By The Light”, Rick James“Give It To Me Baby”, RUSH‘s “The Spirit Of Radio” and THE VELVET UNDERGROUND‘s “Venus In Furs” and “All Tomorrow’s Parties”.

“The Lords Of Salem” soundtrack arrives on April 16, a few days before the movie opens in limited release on April 19.

Zombie‘s own new album, “Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor”, is due out on April 23 and contains songs such as first single “Dead City Radio And The New Gods Of Super Town”, “Lucifer Rising”, “The Girl Who Loved The Monsters” and “Behold! The Pretty Filthy Creatures”, along with a cover of the GRAND FUNK RAILROAD hit “We’re An American Band”.

Zombie will also receive an honorary award at the upcoming Revolver Golden Gods Awards, which will take place in Los Angeles on May 2.

Has King Diamond dabbled in the Occult and witchcraft so much that he has managed to call on the dark powers to reincarnate himself into a younger, stronger version of himself and form a new band based in Germanyeven before he has even died?  Well it seems this might very well be the case in the form of vocalist Meister Cagliostro of Attic. According to Zombie, the effort will also “be released on good old 12-inch vinyl.” A photo of the front and back cover of the LP can be seen below.

“I think for the first time this new album perfectly merges the old days of WHITE ZOMBIE with the future of what I am doing now,” says Rob. “I think fans of both will agree that this is the perfect combo of both worlds.”

A rock icon and auteur filmmaker with insight and unlimited vision, Rob Zombie has continuously challenged audiences as he stretches the boundaries of music, film, and publishing. Now, the seven-time Grammy-nominated recording artist releases his fifth solo album, “Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor”, which includes “Dead City Radio And The New Gods Of Super Town”, along with such tracks as “Ging Gang Gong De Do Gong De Laga Raga”, “Lucifer Rising”, “Behold! The Pretty Filthy Creatures” and a heavy-duty cover of GRAND FUNK RAILROAD‘s “We’re an American Band”.

“Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor” is the first release on Rob‘s new label, Zodiac Swan, through T-Boy Records/UMe.

Zombie told The Pulse Of Radio what goals he set for himself in making the new album. “I wanted someone to hear it and go, ‘Wow, I haven’t heard that before,'” he said. “I wanted it to be just different. We really went out of our way with the sounds, so every song has a very different sound, a very different guitar sound, drum sound, just everything, where the sound, the actual sound becomes very important. You know, after all these years you want to still try to feel that you can break through new, creative areas in your own mind, and that’s really what we’re just trying to do, you know.”

T-Boy Records is veteran rock manager Andy Gould‘s new partnership with Universal Music Enterprises (UMe) which will serve as an umbrella label releasing new music and albums from established iconic hard-rock bands with major followings.

Gould, who currently heads his own Spectacle Entertainment Group, has managed Rob Zombie since his days in WHITE ZOMBIE. Gould‘s track record includes sales exceeding fifteen million worldwide and seven Grammy nominations with Zombie, including securing deals for Zombie to become one of only a handful of people to have unprecedented success for six feature films as the writer and director.

“We have had a great deal of success in the past with Rob Zombie,” explains Gould about his decision to take the new venture to UMe. “We want to sign rock bands with brand names that do good business on the road, and have been underserved by the major label system. The idea I had arose out of discussions with the other managers of major hard-rock acts who all felt their artists could benefit from an improved label experience. We’re looking to super-serve this niche audience, which is tremendously loyal, and is often even larger internationally than here in the States.”

As a musician, Rob Zombie has sold over fifteen million albums worldwide to date. His last studio album was “Hellbilly Deluxe 2”. The CD came a decade after its predecessor, “Hellbilly Deluxe”, the album that established Zombie as a solo artist after the breakup of multi-platinum group WHITE ZOMBIE. That triple-platinum album also yielded a string of successful radio singles, namely “Dragula”, “Superbeast” and “Living Dead Girl”, which dominated the airwaves.

The rocker-turned-film director is the only artist to experience unprecedented success in both music and film as the writer/director of five feature films, with a worldwide gross totaling more than $100 million dollars. The week of his album release, Zombie will premiere his sixth motion picture, “The Lords Of Salem”, that he wrote, directed and produced in tandem with the producers of the “Paranormal Activity” franchise, on April 26, with Anchor Bay Films.

Last year, in addition to working on his film, Zombie also dominated the touring world in 2012, blowing away audiences on the road with MEGADETH, then with MARILYN MANSON for the “Twins Of Evil Tour”. Zombie and his band of maniacs — John 5 on guitar, Piggy D on bass and Ginger Fish on drums — brought their elaborate, multi-media production, complete with hair-raising theatrics, animatronic robots, oversized LED screens, a non-stop collage of psychotronic monster film clips, a spectacular light show, a gigantic robot with flames shooting out of its body, pyrotechnics, insane guitar riffs and vicious beats to audiences and festivals around the world.

NIGHTBITCH: Connecticut Metal Tyrants To Unleash New 12” Lyric Video Hosted By Invisible Oranges Available

Connecticut metal tyrants NIGHTBITCH will unleash their latest Danzigian/Blackmore-driven bone metal anthems with the three-song Chainmaker 12”. Set for release on March 26, 2013 via Ear One Productions, Chainmaker serves as a precursor to the band’s upcoming full-length.

Elaborates guitarist Ryan “His Emissary” Adams of the offering: Chainmaker is the bastard offspring of the nudie mag in your dad’s closet and the Killers tape in your older brother’s Firebird. It’s what’s in your Walkman on your way to meet the cheerleader with the red hair under the bleachers after detention so she can show you her new tattoo. It’s what happens when you grow up with your Priest vinyl a little too close to your Lisa Ann VHS tapes. Misfits and Samhain original pressings and Jess Franco laserdiscs on your bedroom wall. Denim and Hell. Riffs and sleaze. FUCK OFF NOWADAYS HEAVY METAL!”

Chainmaker will be released as a one-sided vinyl 12″ in a limited quantity of 250 and available digitally via iTunes and bandcamp.

In celebration of its impending release, Invisible Oranges is currently hosting the “Chainmaker” lyric video.  Point your peepers toTHIS LOCATION and embrace the sleaze.

Chainmaker Track Listing:

1. Chainmaker

2. Disrober

3. Into the Fire (Deep Purple Cover)

Coalescing a mission statement of “wicked women, unholy passions and fire nights” with influences musical, aesthetic, chemical and carnal, NIGHTBITCH are “purveyors of some of the finest occult-themed, sleazed-out, trad-flavored metal around” (CT Indie).

NIGHTBITCH formed in the Summer of 2009 when Ipsissimus guitarist Ryan “His Emissary” Adams sought an outlet to reconcile his late-bloomer discovery of Ritchie Blackmore’s majestic emanations with his obsession for sleazy 70’s occult / exploitation films and plagiarized Danzig riffs. Adams soon hooked up with celebrated doom metal vocalist Phil Swanson (Hour of 13, Seamount, Vestal Claret and many more) through mutual friend Bill Connnolly (whose No Visible Scars label would expose the world to NIGHTBITCH via the Sex and Magic cassette). The band was quickly rounded out by the formidable rhythm section of longtime friends and veteran CT musicians Chris Taylor (Kingdom Of Sorrow) and Mark Else (De Omega) on drums and bass, respectively.

In September 2010, after gigs opening for such heavyweights as Pentagram, Black Pyramid, Earthride and Midnight, NIGHTBITCH traveled to Dublin, Ireland as the back-up band for Hour of 13’s live debut at the Dublin Doom Day, playing its own gig as a part of the warm-up festivities. The band brought with it the Sex and Magic cassette, which would sell out of all 100 copies within a month of its release. Upon returning from Dublin, NIGHTBITCH and Swanson amicably parted ways and Taylor assumed vocal duties. In December, Cyclopean Records issued Sex and Magic on vinyl limited to 350 copies, which also sold out in one month’s time. Analog formats exhausted, Sex and Magic has since entered the digital realm via Austria’s Psychedoomelic Records, where it counts the godly Reverend Bizarre among its labelmates.

With Taylor at the helm, NIGHTBITCH has composed eleven infernal odes to comprise its full-length debut and is set to release the Chainmaker EP to showcase the depravity to follow.
