Someone I found in my general wanderings that looked a lot like Tommy Chong…

LAMB OF GOD frontman returns to the Czech Republic to Stand Trial for Manslaughter

LAMB OF GOD frontman Randy Blythe is back in the Czech Republic, standing trial on manslaughter charges in the death of a fan, Daniel Nosek, at a Prague concert over two years ago. Nosek’s parents are demanding compensation of 10 million Czech Koruna (approximately $530,000).

The day after his first appearance in court (on February 4th), Blythe issued the open letter below via Instagram:

“I have read a few news reports of the progress of my case, and trust me, many things are incorrect. But this is the Internet, and, of course, things are half-baked anyway. Keep in mind that translation is difficult, and many things can be lost, for Czech is a VERY DIFFICULT language. So wait and see, as I am. It is all I can do, except be honest and fight for my freedom in my own way. I also have heard of some people (not on here) talking smack about the Czech Republic, saying, ‘Fuck the Czech Republic,’ etc. This is not how it should be. This is a very sad case, not something to rage at people you do not know over. I am not angry with the Czechs at all. A fan of my band is dead; what do I have to be angry about? I am an INNOCENT man, but I am also a very sad man right now. To not be sad in this instance would be inhuman. But mad at the Czech people? Why would I be mad at them?

Here, look at this picture; a mother watches her baby. The child reaches out for something new, laughing and chasing a pretty picture in the air. It is the same here as everywhere else. Do you see?!?!? Life is beautiful.

I hope to see y’all soon.”

According to, Blythe arrived for court about 15 minutes before the scheduled start time this morning (Monday, February 4th). Before court he did not speak with reporters, but remained in conversation only with his lawyer.

“And so it begins. I am calm and prepared. Everyone, thanks for your good thoughts and prayers”, he wrote via Instagram.

In court, Blythe stated: “I kept my word. I said that I’d get to court today and I did. I do not shy away from responsibility. I’m not a person who runs away from problems. But I do not want to be punished for something I did not do.”

Randy explained that normally fans are strictly forbidden from going on the stage. But here it was different. People climbed up and got between the band members.

“The death of a fan breaks my heart”, said Blythe.

As previously reported, the court, which had three months to set a trial date, deemed there was enough evidence to proceed with the case, acting quickly after the Czech State Attorney officially filed manslaughter charges against the 41-year-old in early December.

Blythe was held in custody in the Czech Republic after being arrested on suspicion of manslaughter by Czech police at the Prague airport on Wednesday, June 27th. It is alleged that during a May 24th, 2010 Lamb Of God concert, Blythe pushed the 19-year-old fan, who had climbed onstage, back into the audience. The fan lapsed into a coma and died of a bleeding in the brain fourteen days later.

Check out the new Lordi Album Cover and tracklist…

This is  the album cover of To Beast Or Not To Beast.

Mr. Lordi, who designs the cover and all the visual artwork of Lordi comments on the cover: “The album cover painting is actually a part of a larger picture. The original artwork had this vintage- styled lady holding a horned skull, which, however, was not the main point of the art piece. There was something not quite right with the setting, so I made experiments with various versions and frames. Album title was Upgradead at that point in time, and the painting was done with that title in mind.”

He goes on: “But now, with a changed concept of the artwork, the title did not seem to fit anymore. We did not consider it an A-class name either. Our guitarist Amen came up with the final title, which we felt suitable and perfect both for the cover artwork and the album.”

The first single of the album “The Riff” will be released on February 8th 2013.

The album track list is:

We’re Not Bad For The Kids (We’re Worse)
I Luv Ugly
The Riff
Something Wicked This Way Comes
I’m The Best
Happy New Fear
Schizo Doll
Candy For The Cannibal
Sincerely With Love
