Interview with the French Death/Thrash/Core metal band, F.O.A.D.
By Carla Morton
Hello guys, how things are going?
Hello. .F.O.A.D. is not much on the scene this year because of our line up changing. At this time, we are complete, with a new drummer. We rehearse a lot, to be ready for the stage.
When did F.O.A.D was formed?
F.O.A.D. was formed in 2009. We have recorded a first demo called “Fuck Off And Die” in 2009 and an EP selfreleased in 2011 called “Remorse Is For The Dead”. Then we signed a deal with M & O MUSIC in 2014 and released our first album “ Bringer Of Death’’. We have played more than 60 gigs in France, Switzerland and Cuba.
You have released the debut album entitled ”Bringer Of Death” last year. Tell me about it.
This album is a 5 year work, including rehearsals, song creations, gigs and recording. It is what we really are. We put all our guts and fun in it. “Bringer Of Death” was selfproduced, but the mastering was done by the great Alan Douches.
Have you received nice reviews about the album?
Magazines and webzines have responded positively to our release.
Are you going to release new materials soon?
We are in the middle of a rehearsal period where lot of songs are coming out. We are now able to propose 3 new songs for the next gigs and we will be ready to record a new album next year.
What are the influences and also what are the lyrical themes?
In fact we have no influences or too many. All members are influenced by lots of different bands such as Pantera, Slayer, Lamb of God, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Born Of Osiris. Too many style from Heavy to matalcore. We are trying to play what we want to hear when we are together.
Any shows confirmed for this year?
We are going to play in Villeurbanne (France) on friday the 16th October, and Trept (France) on saturday the 31st of October. Paris is announced for January Bordeaux and Marseille will follow.
