So here we have another female fronted metal band, time to compare it to the likes of Nightwish, Lacuna Coil and Evanescence etc… except there not really like any of them. With a lot of different influences and ideas they have created their own thing, which is good.
The songs I enjoyed and recommend the most are: ‘Bye bye Babylon’, ‘The Room’, ‘Come To My Heaven’,
The things I enjoyed most about the album is the basic rock guitar and drum work as well as the wonderful vocals and lyrics. The band throw in some good ideas in each song to keep things interesting such as different pacing (done right), a bit of rap, sound effects, some great piano and orchestral pieces and some folk style guitars. The songs are a good length as well.
Like Gormathon there’s nothing here that I didn’t really like it just doesn’t blow me out of the water and I don’t see myself listening to it over and over again.
So the best way to summon up this album is that it is not quite as simple as Alunah but it’s not as fully detailed like Amaranthe. On the whole it stays healthily and comfortably in the middle, which still makes it a good album in my book.
