Canadian Power Metal veterans SHOCK officially announce the addition of drummer Taylor Calderone from Canadian Progressive Death Metal Band Dissentient. Taylor replaces former drummer Chad Walls who had recorded the band’s successful 2013 release Once Denied which was received with universal acclaim by both reviewers and fans landing on several Best of 2013 Metal lists.
When asked about the reason for the switch, bass player Steve Monette had this to say: “Chad is a great drummer who plays in several bands, and he was unable to play for some shows we had scheduled last fall opening for ANNIHILATOR so Taylor was kind enough to fill in. With the potential for more scheduling conflicts in the future we felt it would be better for all concerned to carry on with Taylor, as his only other musical obligation was Dissentient and they had been on a break.”
Taylor will continue to pull double duty playing for both SHOCK and Dissentient. SHOCK are currently in rehearsals for what promises to be their busiest year for live shows since reforming in 2011, as well as working on material to record the follow-up to Once Denied at the end of 2014.
